Our Journeys: 50 Years After the Fall
A Storytelling Exhibition by Vietnamese Boat People
On Condensed Display Starting November 1, 2025
Think!Chinatown is honored to host Our Journeys: 50 Years After the Fall, a multimedia storytelling exhibition by Vietnamese Boat People (VBP). Opening September 7, 2025, the exhibition transforms oral histories into a deeply human and visual experience, centering Vietnamese American voices and tracing the cultural and emotional threads of migration across generations.
Through personal artifacts, media installations, and interactive elements, Our Journeys reflects on the journeys of Vietnamese refugees after the Fall of Saigon in 1975. Visitors are invited to explore family stories, trace migration routes on a global map, and contribute their own narratives to VBP’s growing digital archive.
“This show is not only about where we’ve been—it’s about where we’re going, and how our stories can light the path for others seeking hope and belonging,” says Tracey Nguyễn Mang, founder of Vietnamese Boat People.

Think!Chinatown is a place-based intergenerational non-profit in Manhattan’s Chinatown, working at the intersection of storytelling, arts and neighborhood engagement. We believe the process of listening, reflecting and celebrating develops the community cohesion and trust necessary to work on larger neighborhood issues. By building strength from within our neighborhood, we can shape better policies and programs that define our public spaces, celebrate our cultural heritage and innovate how our collective memories are represented.
