T!C Kitchen Classes & Talks

For diasporic cultures, food is where we share, learn, and remember. Our intergenerational kitchen classes highlight the richness of immigrant culture in Chinatown and honor the knowledge of Chinatown aunties and other experts of everyday cultural practices. We’ve learned how to make joong/zongzi/粽子 for the Dragonboat Festival, tongjyun/tangyuan/湯圓 for the Lantern Festival, leungcha/liangcha/凉茶 to balance excessive heat, and medicinal chicken soup to ward off illness.
