Behind the Art of Storytelling
Produced by Think!Chinatown, these stories bring us into the everyday lives of people who have long called Chinatown home. Bringing together art and storytelling, our Art of Storytelling project challenges us to reimagine how we collectively remember, honor, and share the stories of our communities.
This season’s collaboration: Think!Chinatown x Vietnamese Boat People
We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Vietnamese Boat People (VBP) to dive into the histories of Chinatown’s Vietnamese communities & families.
All community recordings will be archived on VBP’s digital Journeys Map to build a brand new Chinatown collection, spotlighting Vietnamese histories in Chinatown. Each storyteller will also receive a copy of their recording for your own personal use.

The Next Art of Storytelling Project
From these community recordings, Think!Chinatown will pick one story to produce for our upcoming Art of Storytelling season.
The chosen storyteller(s) will then:
April: Record a follow-up interview
May-June: Provide photos to our artist to illustrate their story
August: Debut their story on the big screen at our Storytelling Festival in August.
*Reservations are limited, so please book your spot early!
