Open Call: Community Works at the 2026 Chinatown Storytelling Festival

We will select 4 to share with the public to close out this year’s Storytelling festival on August 18th.  Whether you're still in the early stages of development or have a finished piece ready to share with the world, we invite you to apply.

Presented by Think!Chinatown

What We're Looking For:

  • Storytelling projects about and/or made by/with members of the Chinatown community.

  • These projects could span any storytelling medium, including film, audio, performance, spoken word, digital media, visual arts, and more.

  • Completed projects OR works-in-progress that are looking for support.

  • While your project could be of any length, we will allot 8 minutes of time for each piece to be shown and/or presented. This will be followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the audience. You can ask them questions too!

  • The presentation will take place with a meet & greet on Tuesday, August 18th to close out our Storytelling Festival 2026

Criteria of Selection:

  • Projects will be selected based on the potential to connect with the T!C audience

  • Selections will be made by the Chinatown Storytelling Festival curators

  • Receive Feedback: Whether your work is in progress or finished, engage in meaningful dialogue and constructive feedback from a supportive, passionate community.

  • Expand Your Network: Connect with other creatives and professionals working in the Chinatown arts and culture scene.

  • Even if your storytelling project is not selected for this year, we’d love to keep tabs of your project for future program opportunities!
