T!C’s 2026 Candidates Guide: NY Primaries

The Think!Chinatown team has selected a few key issues that we think the greater Chinatown community strongly cares about. We then contacted every candidate in each race (NY Congressional District 10, State Senate 27, State Assembly 65) to give each campaign a chance to respond to each topic. Candidates are listed in the order they will appear on the ballot. T!C does not edit their answers.

Early Voting Period is June 13th - June 21st, 2026. Primary Election Day is June 23rd.

Think!Chinatown does not endorse any candidate. We are providing a forum for our community to understand each candidate’s platform on Chinatown-specific issues. It’s up to you, to find the candidate that aligns best with your values!

The candidates that responded to us are (in order of response): Mariama James, Wei-Li Tjong, Lilah Mejia, Illapa Sairitupac, Jasmin Sanchez, Brad Lander, Daniel Goldman, Yuh-Line Niou, and Grace Lee. Candidates who did not respond include: Jay Jacky Wong
